Privacy Policy

Last updated 15 October 2026

Waypoint Studio (ABN 33 700 632 024) makes Waypoint, the business software at waypointstudioco.net. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it and what we do with it. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988.

1. What we collect

  • When you ask for a demo: your name, business name, trade or type of business, email, mobile, the answers you choose in the form and the best time to call.
  • When you visit our website: we count visits and which parts of the page were opened, using a random number kept in your browser. It does not use cookies from other companies. If you later ask for a demo from the same browser, we can see how many times you visited. If your browser asks not to be tracked, we do not count you.
  • When you use Waypoint: your login email, the names of the people you give a login to and the records you put in, such as clients, quotes, jobs, bookings, invoices and costs.
  • When someone books through a Waypoint booking page: the name, email, mobile, chosen service, time and any answers the business asks for.
  • Technical details: basic information our hosting needs to run and protect the service, such as IP address, browser type and error logs.

We do not use advertising trackers on this website or in the app. We do not sell personal information.

2. Why we collect it

  • To contact you about the demo you asked for.
  • To set up your account, run the software and give you support.
  • To send emails the service needs to send, such as booking confirmations, reminders and account notices.
  • To bill you once payments are switched on.
  • To keep the service secure and fix problems.
  • To understand how a trial is going, such as how often Waypoint is used, so we can help.

3. Your business data belongs to you

The records you keep in Waypoint belong to your business. We hold them on your behalf so the software can work. We do not look through them except when you ask for help, when we need to fix a fault or when the law requires it. Each business can only see its own records. This is enforced in the database itself, not just in the screens.

If you run a booking page, you are responsible for the personal information your own customers give you through it. We process it for you.

4. Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run Waypoint, such as hosting, email delivery and payment processing. They only receive what they need to do that job and must keep it secure.

Your business records are stored in Australia. Some of our providers are based overseas, mainly in the United States, so some technical or delivery information may be handled outside Australia. Card payments are handled by a secure payment provider. We never see or store full card numbers.

We will not otherwise disclose your information unless you agree or the law requires it. If you would like the current list of providers, email us and we will send it.

5. How we keep it safe

Connections are encrypted. Access between businesses is separated at the database level. Logins are protected by password and access to the owner tools is restricted. If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to cause serious harm, we will tell the people affected and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the law requires.

6. How long we keep it

Demo requests are kept for up to two years unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Business records are kept while your account is active. If you cancel, you can export your records first. We keep them for 60 days in case you change your mind, then delete them. Some billing records must be kept longer for tax reasons.

7. Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete it. Email info@waypointstudioco.net. We will reply within 30 days.

If you are not happy with how we handled a privacy matter, tell us first so we can fix it. If it is still not resolved you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

8. Changes

We may update this policy as Waypoint grows. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change affects you in a significant way we will let you know.
